I wasn’t planning to weigh in on the current conflict in Gaza. Lately however, I’ve been feeling like it’s about time for my hiatus from Substack (necessary due to unforeseen personal obligations), to come to a close.
One comment that I’ve been hearing this week is that it’s “hard to find balanced reporting” on what’s been happening in Israel/Gaza. When was the last time it was easy to find balanced reporting on anything? Covid? Ukraine?? Trump???
It is very difficult to detect an imbalance in the outside world if you have that same imbalance internally. It’s like regional accents; you don’t notice you have one, but it’s obvious to anyone from somewhere else.
Clearly, the way you pronounce your vowels makes no difference to the information you are communicating. But if your message is based on skewed or incomplete information, it can only be adopted and championed by someone with a similarly deficient set of facts.
All to say, if you’ve noticed that reporting on Gaza has been polarized, even in the “alternative” media, you’re already poised to gain a better understanding of the situation.
Here is a small compilation of balanced reporting on the current conflict that I’ve come across over the past week. All sources are linked.
Mark Crispin Miller has published two posts on Substack about the situation in Israel this week. The first, from October 7th, addresses (among other things), the highly unlikely narrative that this was a “surprise” attack. Since the media at large seems to have moved past this point already, I think it’s important to bookmark how this situation was first announced. Of course it WAS a surprise to many people, but to write headlines declaring that this was a complete surprise to EVERYBODY in Israeli intelligence is disingenuous at best. As a veteran expert on the subject of propaganda, Miller’s second post about Israel this week is also worth reading for contextualization.
Badlands Media has also reflected on the false flag aspect to the current conflict in their article Women, Children … and Terror. As a reminder, referring to an event “false flag” is not to say that horrible things did not happen, only that events were manipulated for a predetermined purpose. It’s the “Problem” phase of the Problem, Reaction, Solution formula. This article addresses the question of why this conflict is occurring and explores the possible desired outcomes for the Deep State.
Grand Theft World podcast #153, Welcome To The Killbox. True to his moniker of “Forensic Historian”, Richard Grove goes over many obscured aspects of the history of Israel and Zionism with a fine-toothed comb in this six and a half hour presentation. Only about five hours are dedicated to Israel, but the rest of it is also insightful.
Max Igan presented an eloquent and heartfelt request that we approach this emotionally charged situation with level heads and compassion. As I expressed above, this can be difficult or even impossible when individuals are trapped in an imbalanced point of view. The excellent documentary Defamed (which is also linked in Igan’s post), is an eye-opener even for people who think they already understand social engineering. As my friend John rightly pointed out, the parts about the ADL in Defamed are almost comic relief…without them, the trauma-based mind control of Israeli children exposed in the film might be too much for most viewers to handle.
On the subject of comic relief, Curry and Dvorak from the No Agenda podcast have been deconstructing the news and serving it back in predigested bites for 16 years, and this week has been no exception. As they lament, for the past week it’s been difficult to find news about anything other than the current conflict in Israel to deconstruct. That in itself is revealing. Fair warning, for most people it can take at least a couple of episodes to get into the idiosyncratic style of this podcast. Whether you like it or not, there’s no denying that they are great at deconstructing the news and shrinking inflamed amygdalas.
Mike Adams delivered a profound Statement of Principles that gets to the heart of the matter. The word “principle” or its plural “principles” come from the Latin principium/principia which means “a beginning, commencement, origin…a foundation”. In other words, principles are by definition what comes first. At the foundation of any response to this and any other conflict, the tandem Principles of Non-Aggression AND Self-Defence are in effect. These are what should inform decisions concerning a response. Actions that go against these universal principles are taken to the detriment of everybody. Israelis have the right to defend themselves against terrorists (be they Hamas or their own government, which are actually not such different things). In no way, shape or form does the Israeli government have the right to further reduce all of Gaza and everyone in it to rubble.
The articles and podcasts listed above are just the ones I’ve watched/listened to over the past week that meet this subject with level heads. I’m sure there are others.
I haven’t checked in with the Corbett Report or The Last American Vagabond yet, but am fairly certain they have also produced some good and balanced reporting.
Somewhat reluctantly, I am opening up the comments again so if you have other resources for balanced reporting please add links with a brief description below, so that we can all benefit from a wider and wiser perspective. Staving off WW3 may well depend on that.
Thank you for the resources.... Trish is also great! https://open.substack.com/pub/trishwood/p/heroes-villains-the-end-of-the-world?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=1d5u88
